- :2 Disk Files
- Allows access to files on
- the hard disk. The first
- line shows the current direc-
- tory. The second line shows
- the current filter.
- :3 Text Mode
- Text Mode is used to switch
- from graphics to text mode.
- This is normally used when
- "hot-keying" to a resident
- application eg. Borland's
- Sidekick. Use the F9 key to
- toggle between modes.
- :4 Create Icon
- Used to add a new icon to the
- screen. This can be either a
- sub-menu icon or an appli-
- cation icon. See also RAM
- usage, Icon Text, and Icon
- Commands.
- :5 Use Password
- Determines what type of pass-
- word will be assigned to an
- icon. Option are-
- - no Access (requires password
- to run run or modify icon)
- - no Modify (can run icon but
- requires password to modify)
- - None (removes password)
- :6 RAM Usage
- CP RAM usage- Resident (98K),
- Limited (8K), and None (0K).
- CP returns faster if it stays
- resident. If the application
- needs more RAM, use Limited.
- A few programs will need CP
- completely removed from RAM.
- In these cases, select None.
- :7 Launch Key
- Assign a character (A-Z) to an
- icon that will launch the icon
- with just that one keystroke.
- A beep means that character is
- in use for this menu.
- NOTE: If row/column labels are
- on, you will need to use the
- ALT key to launch the icon.
- :8 Delete Icon
- Removes an icon from the
- screen. If you are removing
- a sub-menu icon, it cannot
- contain other icons- delete
- them first. If the icon had
- been customized, you will be
- asked whether to keep or delete
- the custom bitmap.
- :9 Icon Text
- This text will appear on the
- default icon shape. Use up
- to 10 characters per line.
- Text automatically centers.
- :10Icon Commands
- Enter the commands that would
- be used to run the application
- from DOS eg. CD \GAMES
- CHESS
- or use the Find File button to
- find and select the program
- file from the hard disk.
- See the manual for more info.
- :11Password
- Used to change an existing
- password or to enter a pass-
- word for the first time after
- selecting the "Use Password"
- option.
- :12Appearance
- Standard icons have only 2
- shapes- a file-folder shape for
- sub-menu icons, and a clipped-
- corner box for application
- icons. Select Custom to modify
- the default shape.
- :13Analog
- Sets the clock to an
- analog style.
- :14Digital
- Sets the clock to a digital
- style.
- :15Size
- Use to select the size of the
- analog or digital clock or
- turn it off.
- :16Set Time
- Sets the DOS time clock, and
- also the clock on the screen.
- Use 24-hour time.
- eg. enter 13:30 for 1:30 PM.
- :17Set Date
- Sets the DOS date, and also
- the date on the clock.
- eg. 03/15/91 for March 15, '91
- :18Labels On/Off
- Turns row/column labels on or
- off. Labels are helpful when
- using the keyboard to jump to
- an icon by typing the row and
- column label.
- :19Screen Saver
- Determines how many minutes of
- no keyboard or mouse activity
- to wait before turning the
- screen off to avoid "burning"
- the monitor. Range is from 1
- to 99, or use 0 to disable.
- :20Mouse Speed
- Adjusts cursor speed to mouse
- movement. Options are Slow,
- Normal, and Fast.
- :21Set Colors
- Toggles through several pre-
- defined color combinations.
- :22Icon Selected
- Click twice to run this icon
- or use the right mouse button
- to drag it to a new location.
- Go to the pull-down menus for
- more options.
